Multimedia

Multimedia enriches the learning experience and your student’s engagement, and we recommend adding as much media as possible to items.

Text

Well crafted text items are brief and focused on teaching one fact. Glossaries may be a good starting point, but even those may need some editing to present a single clear concept.

Images

Cerego allows you to upload images to most items. PNG, JPG, and GIF files will be accepted. Images may be uploaded from your desktop, using image URL, or by searching our flickr search library (which returns images published under a creative commons license). An image will be presented at the size and aspect ratio that it is uploaded (until it filled it’s allowed space). Therefore, we recommend selecting quality images of a decent size (300px x 300px for example). Regions background images should be 600px wide or greater.

We strongly recommend adding alt text when you upload images to Cerego as it will improve the experience for learners interacting with Cerego using a screenreader.

Sound

Most item types allow a sound file to be uploaded. Audio enhances students learning of unfamiliar words and scientific terms, which may be difficult to pronounce. WAV or MP3 files are accepted, and may be uploaded from your desktop. Audio plays automatically when an item is presented, and may be replayed with a click at any point.

Embedded Content

Cerego items include a notes tab which will allow you to add supplementary information about a concept. You will be allowed to embed videos from Youtube or Vimeo and digital presentations from Slideshare, Prezi, PowerPoint, or Google slides.
