Q&A

Cerego: How would you describe the students on your campus?

Lori Schreiber: Students at Penn State Abington are what you’d describe as ‘traditional,’ with a few returning adults. Many have jobs outside of school. They are commuters.

Cerego: What are some of the teaching and learning challenges you face as an instructor?

LS: I teach an accelerated hybrid format. Some students were having a hard time learning all of the terms/concepts at such a fast pace. Cerego seems to help with that.

Cerego: How have you tried to address these challenges in the past?

LS: I have my own online flashcards and study guides. Cerego adds an adaptive dimension to these existing materials.

Cerego: What has consistently come up short for you regarding the learning solutions you have tried?

LS: The lack of follow through from students. With Cerego, I can monitor their progress daily.

Cerego: What attracted you to Cerego?

LS: I was contacted for a free trial last summer, which is the best time of year for me to try extra things that can help in class. I tried the system first hand, the way a student would as part of their evaluation process, and enjoyed Cerego. Based on this experience, I thought students would like it as well. They can use Cerego anytime, anywhere with mobile devices.

Cerego: How did Cerego help you address the teaching and learning challenges in this course?

LS: I believe the students are learning terms better with support from Cerego.

Cerego: What did you and your students like most about Cerego?

LS: I think the students enjoy the ease of use they get with Cerego on their mobile devices.
